Robots are probably one of the most iconic pieces of technology that you see all the time. But how long will it be before robots start effecting our lives? Well it’s still a quite few years away but it won’t be too soon before you’ll be seeing robotic technology.

Even now robots are already used in different industries for example the manufacturing industry. This in particular is a big sector where robotic technology is being used and the reason for this is because robots are more efficient than humans so the reality is robots will be slowly taking over. So due to human nature we have always used tools to help us, so the robots which we create just need to be better than humans in terms of working efficiently to replace us.

So Honda have created a robot called ASIMO which happens to be the most advanced humanoid robot. So ASIMO can walk as fast as 1.7mph and run 4.3mph. It is designed with 34 degrees of freedom so therefore it allows ASIMO to carry out “human like” functionalities. But you won’t be seeing this type of technology in your homes for at least another 10 years due to the complexity of robotic technology. So ASIMO specifications are provided from Honda below.
